The client application for PatentsView is quite elegant. However, I notice that in order to review and/or download the actual patent documents, the link sends the user to Google/patent. My understanding is that particular database has been deprecated. Is there any API to directly access the uspto or ReedTech databases to review and/or download individual patents other than by bulk downloads?

Unfortunately, the USPTO does not currently provide a true API endpoint to download individual patents. You can view/download individual patents though PatFT (http://patft.uspto.gov/).

This API definitely seems robust. I am trying to figure out how I can find a patent by giving the last names of two inventors. I can't for the life of me figure out how this can be done. For example, if I wanted to find a patent that has (at least) two authors, one with last name "Smith" and another with last name "Jones", how would I do this? I appreciate the help and the great API!

Please send any questions and additional feedback you have about this API to the PatentsView team at cssip@air.org Thanks!
